We aim to provide choice and confidential support to adults or young people following sexual assault or rape.
We can help you by:
- Making a formal report to the Police about a sexual assault, at any time. We can help you do this, and tell you how this works.
- Offering a forensic examination by a doctor at SAFE Place Merseyside, where evidence can be taken. We will try to ensure you have a choice of whether to be seen by a male or female doctor, but occasionally this may involve a delay.
- Providing someone to support you through your examination and we can refer you for follow-on care.
Alternatively you can choose to have the examination by a Doctor at SAFE Place Merseyside without police involvement. There is no obligation for this to go any further legally, but we can help you by referring you for follow-on care and support.
Should you not want to have a forensic examination we can provide you with details of other organisations who can offer support/counselling.
We can also offer an assault reporting services which is anonymous. This can provide intelligence which could prevent other attacks.
For advice you can speak to a trained Crisis Worker 24hours a day, 365 days a year.
